Lalitha Sahasranama, 102-103

A three faced Devi is situated in the Manipura Chakra.
She is holding a thunderbolt and is surrounded by Damari and other companion energies.
She is of RED colour and situated in your flesh.
She loves guda, muscovado.
She grants all forms of comfort to her devotees and assumes the form of Devi Lakini.
Translation by Om Swamiji
Kundalini, an untold story.

The energy on the Manipura Chakra is Red and she loves guda.
Manipura Chakra is the point of your navel, the central point of your belly button.
The Devi is three faced which governs the three doshas of your body - the Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
Meditating of this chakra appeases the three doshas as Ayurveda states that 95% of diseases are governed by our digestive system.
By meditating on this point, one's intuition power also enhances.

                                                     Mandir

  • Chant Om Hrim Ashtraya Phat before entering the Mandir by tapping the right foot on the floor.
  • Energy of the naval is Red in color as per Lalitha Sahasranama  so we must consider red lights and a red platform so that it is easy for us to visualize our idol with red color on our belly button.
  • A single idol is preferred for better visualization.
  • Use ghee during summer and sesame oil during winters to light lamps.
  • Gold, silver and copper are preferred for idols and lamps.
  • A square shaped Mandir is best preferred.
  • Minimum items with zero clutter.
  • East or North directions are best as per Vedic Vaastu Shastras.
  • For North and East facing homes Northeast is the best preferred location for a Mandir.
  • There must be enough space for one to sit and meditate peacefully.
  • While praying to the deity, the seeker must face East.
  • In a home Mandir, any idol must be easily movable.
  • Maximum height of the idol must be 9 inches.
  • Considering Aaya, a vedic calculation, height of the idols must be in odd numbers like 3,5,7,9.
  • Kusha grass mats can be used for better energy.
  • Keep separate clothes for Puja, preferably red in colour.{don't forget to wash them daily :) }
  • Maintain the same timing for Puja daily, preferably in the morning.
  • Always make a small offering to God, preferably guda (jaggery) as it is related to Manipura Chakra.
  • Do not have blue, black, grey colours inside or near the Mandir area.
  • Close the Mandir in the night or cover it.

Blog dedicated to my cook, Santosh, my obeisance to the divine in him.
He is the one who got the red colored lights on Deepavali to beautify my home mandir which you see on the picture and started with fresh flower garland during Navratra on my SriHari idol which continues till date. Placing flowers on SriHari and my Guru has got me closer to my idea of devotion.
